5 Things to do in San Diego
1. Spend a day exploring the local arboretum.
Many of these destinations are free or relatively budget friendly. All of them always put a smile on my face. They are also perfect for a little family outing.
My favorite is the San Diego Botanic Garden.

2. Bake under the sun
San Diego has over 70 miles of coastline and a huge array of beaches. I love Carlsbad, Oceanside and Encinitas as my favorite beach choices for north county. Oceanside has a grassy picnic area or you can go to plenty of the local eateries for lunch.
3. Balboa Park
Balboa park is one of my favorite places in all of San Diego. There is always so much to do there. I love just walking with the family and seeing all of the different museums. My favorite is the Museum of Photographic Arts and the Natural History Museum.
4. Hiking in Torrey Pines
This is one of the most iconic places in San Diego. This trail has great beach access, an amazing pine forest and a great variety of coastal sage scrubs. It’s also home to the Torrey Pine, one of the rarest pines in the world. I recommend bringing water before going on this adventure.
5. Wine Tasting
This is excellent way to learn about San Diego’s amazing viticulture while getting to taste amazing local flavors. Often many of these adventures will take you to 3 family-owned wineries and offer many delicious wine options for you and mom to try. I recommend purchasing ASAP.
